Episode #27 - Twitter for Music Marketing?
Twitter has been variously described as "micro blogging" and "asynchronous chat". My friend Mitch Joel even coined the term "permission based stalking" which sounds a little creepy to me, but it kind of gets the point across.
Since Twitter is a completely text-based tool that is limited to 140 characters per entry, you'd think it wouldn't be very useful as a music promotion tool, right? Well I've got some ideas about that...

Two VERY different interviews with me
The first was by Network2.tv founder Jeff Pulver. Jeff and I hung out a bit last week during Canadian Music Week, and he asked me about my entry into his "How To Watch Internet TV" contest.
The second was by Sara Scurfield for the Association of Internet Marketing & Sales (AIMS) Canada blog. Sara and I spoke about band/brand marketing in Second Life, part of the lead up to my AIMS presentation next week the always awesome C.C. Chapman.

Mitch Joel says "yes." Bob Lefsetz says "hell NO!" What do you think? Does the idea of branding cheapen music, or is it important part of the model for the modern music business?

How to Watch Internet TV on Network2.tv
Since there were no negative comments to my last special video episode, I decided to do yet another. This one is a little different -- it's my entry into the Network2.tv contest.
Brought to my attention by my friend Chris Brogan, Community Developer for Network2, the contest awards up to $25,000 (USD) of his boss Jeff Pulver's money to video makers who create their own unique moving visual answer to the question "How Do You Watch Internet Video?"
So, to wit, I have created this humble entry using my own unique combination of idiotically catchy music, ham-handed animation, and rodents. Rodents? Huh? Well you'll just have to watch, won't you?
