Apple Notifies Partners: DRM-free Music and DRM-free Music Videos Soon

Well it's seems like Apple IS going to be offering the option to provide DRM-free music for indie providers. Excellent! I wonder if it will be at the EMI non-DRM rate of $1.29? Regardless it's a good move on Apple's part.

Gartner Says 80 Percent of Internet Users Will Have A "Second Life'' by 2011

If indies had the option to allow their music to be available without DRM, and had the ability to compete on price (i.e. let me set my own track and album prices rather than them being set by iTunes), it would help force the hands of the majors -- assuming that's what Apple REALLY wants...
